Everyone loves home-made crunchy toffee apples in Autumn. These ones are super easy to make using shop bought caramels and the addition of marshmallows makes them extra special.

You will need:
6 small apples
1 tablespoon water
6 wooden sticks
1 cup of marshmallows
1 bag soft caramels (14oz)
cooking chocolate (optional)
100’s and 1000’s (optional)
Line a tray with baking parchment and grease the paper with butter.
Combine the caramels, marshmallows and water in a saucepan over a medium heat.
Keep stirring until the caramel melts.
Rinse and dry the apples.
Push a wooden stick into the top of each apple.
Dip each apple into the toffee mixture.
Remove the excess by scraping the bottom of the apple across the rim of the saucepan.
Place on to the prepared baking sheet.
If you wish you may roll some of the apples in the 100’s and 1000’s or some crushed peanuts.
You can also drizzle melted chocolate over the apples.
Put the finished toffee apples in to the fridge and allow them to harden.
You may prepare them a couple of days in advance as they will keep well in the fridge.
