There are a lot of different recipes for traditional dandelion wine and this one is very simple, although you have to be very patient waiting for it to ferment!
Please feel free to share any dandelion recipes with us or send in a photo of yours.
You will need:
vanilla pod
6 cups sugar
5g wine yeast
2 sliced lemons
2 sliced oranges
8 pints distilled water
6 pints dandelion petals
1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
Boil the water and pour it over the unwashed dandelion petals. Cover the pot and leave it to stand for two days, stirring occasionally.
Add the sugar, sliced oranges and lemons, vanilla pod and ginger. Boil for one hour and then allow to cool before pouring it into a crock pot. Add the yeast and leave for three days. Strain the liquid into a carboy and fit a fermentation lock.
Allow at least 6 months, but try to wait a year if you can!
